Dr. Nathanson – Vivos Voices

Providers

The AI report is something that I have never seen anywhere, and it provides such a wealth of information that it’s just really incredible.

Dr. Nathanson on the Incredible AI Technology at Vivos

This week on Vivos Voices, we visited with Dr. Nathanson, a skilled dentist and passionate Vivos Integrated Provider (VIP).Dr. Nathanson owns a general dental practice in addition to a dental sleep medicine practice. He treated sleep apnea and other sleep-related breathing disorders in his patients for over eight years using mandibular advancement devices (MADs). With Vivos, he’s been able to provide patients with a better, lasting solution that is easy to implement, simple, noninvasive, and cost-effective.

“I’ve really learned a lot about sleep and how important it is to get good healthy sleep and be able to breathe properly,” shared Dr. Nathanson. “When you’re not breathing properly, and you’re not having a healthy night’s sleep, there are a lot of things that can go wrong. Even if it’s not something that’s life-threatening, there are quality of life issues as well.”

Studies show that poor sleep and inadequate oxygenation caused by sleep apnea can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes, and even erectile dysfunction (ED). “One of the things that attracted me to Vivos was that it helps to treat sleep, not by providing the patient with a device that they’re gonna have to wear for the rest of their life, but by creating a more healthy airway. And that seems to me to be a more logical way to treat sleep,” said Dr. Nathanson.

When asked about his favorite part of bringing Vivos to his practice, Dr. Nathanson didn’t hesitate to reply: “The airway intelligence report.” The AI report “is something that I have never seen anywhere, and it provides such a wealth of information that it’s just really incredible. You see a lot of light bulbs going off in their head when they see, ‘Oh yeah, oh, that’s why I can’t breathe through my nose.’ And ‘That’s why I have this particular issue or that particular issue.’ It really gives [patients] a lot of good information that helps them to make good decisions about their healthcare. And that’s really what it’s all about.”

I’m Dr. Joel Nathanson. I am a dentist in Hunt Valley, Maryland, which is just north of Baltimore. Uh, we have a general dental practice, uh, Nathanson Dental, and we also have a, uh, dental sleep medicine practice, which is Healthier Sleep Solutions. Uh, I’ve been treating, uh, sleep with, uh, oral appliances for about eight years now. And, uh, I’ve helped a lot of people, and, uh, I’ve really learned a lot about sleep and how important it is to get good healthy sleep and be able to breathe properly. When you’re not breathing properly, and you’re not having a healthy night’s sleep, there are a lot of things that can go wrong, and even if it’s not something that’s life-threatening, there are quality of life issues as well. Uh, the, uh, the fact that they’re tired all the time. The fact that this can, uh, lead to high blood pressure can contribute to diabetes and even erectile dysfunction. One of the uh, things that attracted me to Vivos was that it helps to treat sleep not by providing the patient with a device that they’re gonna have to wear for the rest of their life, but by creating a more healthy airway. And that seems to me to be a more logical way to treat sleep. The airway intelligence report is something that I have never seen anywhere, and it provides such a wealth of information that it’s, it’s just really incredible. You see a lot of light bulbs going off in their head when they see, ‘oh yeah, oh, that’s why I can’t breathe through my nose.’ And ’that’s why I, uh, you know, I have this particular issue or that particular issue. It really, uh, gives them a lot of good information that helps them to make good decisions about their healthcare. And that’s really what it’s all about.
