I cannot say enough good things about Vivos.

Dr. Kashkouli on the Patient Impact of Vivos

This week on Vivos Voices, we visited with Dr. Kashkouli, a passionate dentist and Vivos Integrated Provider practicing in Beaverton, Oregon.

Dr. Kashkouli was introduced to Vivos in 2016 or 2017 and quickly saw the life-changing impact it had on her patients. She received calls and visits from patients with tears in their eyes as they told her about the benefits of using the Vivos System: breathing better at night, having vivid dreams for the first time, no longer snoring, and sleeping in the same bed as their partners.

“It’s something that can really change a patient’s life,” she shared. “With dentistry, with doing root canals and with doing, say, extractions, you can get the patients out of pain. And they may remember that for a week or two, but they will forget about it. But doing the Vivos Method, and if you treat them, if you treat their problem, you can really impact their life. They will remember you forever.”

Since witnessing these benefits firsthand, it has become Dr. Kashkouli’s goal and passion to teach her colleagues and other dentists about the power of The Vivos Method. “I cannot say enough good things about Vivos,” she said. “This system can be life changing for a lot of our patients.”

My name is Malika Kashkouli. I’m a Vivos provider, and my practice is in Beaverton, Oregon. I started Vivos back in 2016/17, and I got my training with Dr. David Singh. It was his last training that he provided, and I was honored to get the training directly from Dr. Singh. I have been doing sleep dentistry for about seven years. When I got introduced to Vivos, I thought, “That’s life changing.” Not only we can help patients temporarily to hold their jaw in a forward position, but we can really help them so they don’t have to really rely on their devices indefinitely.

The first patient that we treated, two weeks later in treatment, she called us like, “Oh my God, I can breathe!” And that was, like, life changing. Because at first, I did not really believe in the method. I was like, “The Vivos treatments, yes, they are there, there are great things that I’ve heard about them.” But when I got that call from the patient that was like, “Oh my god, I can breathe now,” or “I had a vivid dream for the first time,” that’s like, “Oh my God, I had made a huge impact on that patient’s life.” Or when the patients come in and say, “My husband tells me that I’m not snoring anymore, and we can sleep in the same room,” and that’s a huge impact for the patient.

You get patients that call you or come in and they have tears in their eyes. And, you know, they bring their family members, they have those smiles, so it’s something that can really change a patient’s life.

Why I chose going this route was that, yes, I’m a dentist. With dentistry, with doing root canals and with doing, say, extractions, you can get the patients out of pain. And they may remember that for a week or two, but they will forget about it. But doing the Vivos Method, and if you treat them, if you treat their problem, you can really impact their life. They will remember you forever, not only for that one time you got them out of pain. That’s really impactful. That’s why Vivos is my passion. Helping patients with their airway is my passion, and sleep dentistry is the way that I’m taking my practice.

The Vivos Method made it possible for me to not only look at the airway but, by taking CT scans, look beyond the face and the teeth. That’s a wow factor for patients. They’re just like, “Not only are you looking at my teeth, but you’re telling me a lot of things that I didn’t know about myself.”

I cannot say enough good things about Vivos. That’s one of my goals and my passions: to teach my colleagues and the rest of dentists to look at this system because this system can be life changing for a lot of our patients.
